Help with setup, pairing, and troubleshooting.
What you need
- Two iPhones running iOS 16 or later.
- Two pairs of phone-VR goggles (e.g. Esperanza EMV400).
- Both people in the same room, on the same local network / Bluetooth range.
Getting started
- On both phones tap Start Swap, and allow the Camera and Local Network prompts (Local Network is required for the phones to find each other).
- They auto-discover. On a first pairing, one phone shows "Connect — yes, that's them". Tap it.
- Tap Swap on both phones, then put the phones in the goggles.
- Double-tap anywhere to step out to Standby; tap Resume to go back.
Calibrate for your goggles
From Home, tap Calibrate to open a test grid with sliders:
- Distortion — pre-warp so straight lines look straight through the lenses.
- Eye gap — shift each eye until the two halves fuse into one image.
- Low-light boost — lift the blacks for dark rooms.
- Comfort mode — a soft edge vignette that deepens with head motion.
Settings persist. You can also use single-device Test mode (your own camera in the goggles) to tune everything before pairing.
Troubleshooting
The phones won't find each other
- Make sure you allowed the Local Network prompt on both phones (Settings → Othersight → Local Network).
- Keep both phones on the same Wi-Fi (or both with Wi-Fi + Bluetooth on).
- Both people should tap Start Swap at roughly the same time.
The image looks flipped or off-center
- Re-run Calibrate and adjust Eye gap and Distortion for your specific goggles.
Camera is black
- Confirm the Camera permission (Settings → Othersight → Camera).
Restoring your purchase
- Open the unlock screen and tap Restore Purchases. The unlock is per Apple ID / per device.
